$115,797 TO THE FIRST PLACEWINNER ANDREW KLOC!
The finale of the 2008 Foxwoods Poker Classic $600 No-Limit Championship came down to two of the final table
chip leaders. Andrew Kloc of Naugatuck, CT, was able to outlast Shane Stacey after 6 hours at the final table to claim the
Championship Trophy, commemorative leather jacket and the cash prize of $115,797!
A total of 938 players started on Wednesday and 34 returned at noon today to compete for the remainder of the
$482,226 prize pool. The final table just after 5 pm and very quickly Jeremiah McKenna of Norwalk, CT, called Shane
Stacey's all-in with AQ. Shane turned over AK and with a board of AAKJ4 Jeremiah was the 10th place winner of $3857.
R M Vora and Harlon Kinney began the final table as the short stacks and R M survived earlier all-ins before pushing in
his last 100K with AQ. David Cote called with KQ and a K on the flop left R M with $4,875 for 9th place to take home to
Hopewell Jct, NY. The blinds were at 12K/24K and Harlon Kinney of Princeton, ME, had 31K remaining in the big
blind. He had a chance with K7 and 3 callers but Bryan Trout hit trip 8's and filled on the river to relegate Harlon to 8th
place good for $6,269.
With the blinds now at 15K/30K, Malik Curry of Everett, MA, pushed all-in with AK. Malik could not connect
and Shane's pocket Q's were enough to leave Malik in 7th position with $9,645. Sixth place was claimed by Brian Trout,
a resident of Marlton, NJ. Brian was in the BB and down to his last 160K with the blinds at 20K/40K. He had outs with 87
suited but Mike Conway, with KQ, flopped a flush and Brian collected $14,467 for his work.
With 5 players remaining, Shane Stacey and Mike Conway had the chip advantage; David Cote and Andrew Kloc
were almost even and Michael Sisiliano trailed the field. The blinds moved to 30K/60K and David Cote of Heath, MA,
was left with under 300K when he did not call Shane's all-in. David was then all-in on the BB with AK but could not pair
and lost to Shane's pocket 10's. David was the 5th place winner of $21,700. Michael Sisiliano, a resident of Gilberts, IL,
went all-in for 250K on the BB with A7; Andrew called with K10. A 10 on the river put Mike in 4th position good for
$28,993. Mike Conway was now the short stack and he made his move with A5. Shane called with pocket 6's and Mike
could not improve; he finished in 3rd and would return home to Glenville, NY, with $40,989.
Heads up play began with Shane Stacey holding almost a 2 to 1 chip advantage. The tide turned quickly when
Andrew went all-in with 75 after a 543 flop. Shane called with pocket 7's but a 5 on the turn left Shane with under 900K.
He rebuilt his stack as play continued with the blinds at 40K/80K. When he went all-in with Q6 after a 679 flop, his hopes
were dashed when Andrew called with Q7. His fortune was rekindled with an 8 on the turn but a 2 on the river gave the pot
and the championship to Andrew. Shane had 2nd place winnings of $100,000 to take back to Hyde Park, VT.
And Andrew Kloc was the 2008 Foxwoods Poker Classic $600 No-Limit Hold'em Champion!
