EFOP
EUROPEAN OMAHA CHAMPIONSHIP
In an amazing super-satellite held on
Friday night for the European Omaha Championship,
14 tickets were given away for the competition!
Buy-in € 3 000 with unlimited rebuys for
2 hours, this was the biggest Omaha tournament
ever in Europe! An impressive number of
77 entries plus 30 rebuys created a prize
pool of € 306 100! The tournament stopped
Saturday night when it was down to 6 players
and the final was held on Sunday at 5pm.
Final
Table:
Seat 1 Andrew BLOCH (USA) – 320 000 Chips
Seat 2 Xavier DETOURNEL (FRA) – 82 000
Chips
Seat 3 Philippe MARMORSTEIN (GER)- 223
000 Chips
Seat 4 Eric SEIDEL (USA) – 129 000 Chips
Seat 5 Teddy TUIL (ISR) – 127 000 Chips
Seat 6 Rob HOLLINK (HOL) – 189 000 Chips
The
final lasted for approximately 3 hours,
during which Mister world-class player
Erik SEIDEL unanimously subjugated this
table, although we were under the impression
he had kept a low profile during the whole
tournament. However, when Rob HOLLINK
and him found themselves heads up, Mister
HOLLINK literally popped out and became
much more aggressive. There were very
interesting and strong plays to watch
during this Omaha heads up final. Mister
HOLLINK, already title-holder of the European
OMAHA Championship EFOP 2001, managed
to win the event and will add this second
EFOP European OMAHA Championship title
plus a first prize of € 122 440 to his
list of triumphs. This was the first time
in the history of the Euro Finals that
one of the main events is won twice by
the same player. Congratulations to all
the finalists and to Rob HOLLINK, and
on behalf of all the ACF staff, we thank
him strongly for his generosity!
