Week of Full Ring Under My Belt

Friday, November 2, 2007

By: Acevader

I've had a pretty sick week at full ring but have nevertheless made money. Hopefully that'll be the difference between full-ring and 6-max; a bad week is still a profitable week, generally. Amongst the usual bad beats there was a world of coolers and looking down my biggest losing hands list it's KK into AA, AA into KK (suck out), QQ into KK (low boards) and we are not talking once or twice each either but several times each. At the other end of the scale there is not one big winning hand for me where I hold a monster pair and villain holds the pair below.

I'm pretty comfortable 9-tabling full ring games and I've set myself some targets between now and the end of the year. First I'll bring you up to speed with my stats for all full ring play so far:

Hands Played: 13,633
VP$IP: 14.9
PFR: 9.29
PTBB/100: 3.12
Hours: 26.57
MT Ratio: 7.57

Money Made: $1700.70
Hourly Rate: $64.02

Whilst I have no firm data yet I estimate that rakeback should work out at about $13.5 per hour so from that sample I should have approximately $358 further to add to it.

These stats are pretty meaningless but I don't feel like I was getting lucky or hitting flops, etc. I've certainly had easier blocks of 13k hands in the past so perhaps I can maintain a win rate in that region? Time will tell.

My current aim is to clock 200 hours between now and the end of 2007 and I believe that is achievable even for me. The thinking behind that figure is that if I maintained my current rate of earn at around 3ptbb/100 plus rakeback then I'd earn $15,500 and probably a few $200+ items from the Full Tilt Store to boot. That would be a particularly good figure to achieve because with the $1000 or so I've already made and at the current exchange rate it figures to be £8000 and thus exactly the same as what I would have made in my job in the same time period. I'd like to be able to sip my pint at New Year and know that I'm at least no worse off since the summer of 2007. I cannot possibly achieve that without putting in the effort so the hours must be my focus between now and Christmas.
